State Audit Office

The State Audit Office (SAO) is an independent audit institution on the use of budgetary and other public funds in the Republic of Macedonia. The SAO was established to protect the interests of the state or citizens as taxpayers for the purposeful and efficient spending of public funds to secure state functions. The SAO's legal task is to audit the use of public funds and to provide information to state institutions and the public on the proper use of funds.
